These remarkable plants have evolved specialized structures that let them grow vertically – covering walls, fences, pergolas, and trellises with greenery and blooms. In gardens, parks, and urban landscapes across the world, they serve as living decorations that combine beauty with practical benefits like shade, privacy, and even energy savings.

Woody ornamental climbers are perennial plants with permanent, hardened (woody) stems that climb upward using various support mechanisms.
